Bikers get on and off the ferries first

Sometimes you wait for the ferries but there is a shaded area with washrooms and picknic tables. On the Balfour side there are shops and resaurants.

There are lots of old buildings and farmsteads. If you stop and talk to the locals they are very friendly and happy to talk and answer questions.

Bikers abound you are always pasing other bikers and riding ferries in groups.

Day One Calgary - Crawford Bay

• Left Calgary 9:30 AM
• Lunch in Crows Nest Pass
• Crawford Bay Campground for the night 6:30 PM

Day Two Day Trip Crawford Bay - Castlegar

• Left Crawford Bay 8:30 AM Parts Run - Dead Battery
• Ferry Ride to Balfour
• Luch in Castlegar
• Battery at Canadian Tire
• Back on the ferry to Crawford Bay for the night 6:30 PM

Day Three Day Trip Crawford Bay - New Denver

• Left Crawford Bay 9:30 AM
• Ferry Ride to Balfour
• Passed a hot spring on the way decided to try it tomorrow.
• North of Kaslo turn left at the 3rd telephone pole after the blacktop ends. 300 ft. through the trees to the quarry site for the granite used on the capital building. Walk right into the quarry. Now this is something you don't see everyday.
• Luch in Kaslo - Awsome Food at the Silver Spoon Bakery and Cafe.
• Over the top of the mountain to New Denver great narroe twisting road with good pavement.
• Followed Slocan Lake to Neilson and back to Balfour.
• Back on the ferry to Crawford Bay for the night 6:30 PM

Day Four Day Trip Crawford Bay - Kaslo

• Left Crawford Bay 10:30 AM
• Ferry Ride to Balfour
• Saw all of the sights in Kaslo - toured the paddle wheller
• Luch in Kaslo - Back to the Silver Spoon Bakery and Cafe (yes it was that good).
• OBack to the hot spring, great pools and a tunnel that went back into the mountain.
• Back on the ferry to Crawford Bay for the night 5:30 PM

Day Five Day Trip Crawford Bay - Creston

• Left Crawford Bay 9:30
• Followed Kooteny Lake south to Creston. Stopped at every sight on the way.
• Luch in Creston
• Bought fruit right from the orchard
• Stopped at a bunch of garage sales
• Back to Crawford Bay for the night 6:30 PM

Day Six Back to Calgary Crawford Bay - Revelstoke

• Left Calgary 10:30 AM
• Ferry Ride to Balfour
• Over the mountain to New Denver for Lunch
• Kid on a sport bike passed me on a curve and the race was on.
• Beautiful ride Goldwing and trailer chasing a sprotbike over the mountain ( wife slapping me on the helmet and yelling smarten up most of the way)
• Turned off the intercom and arrived in New Denver stopped and waited for the others to ketch up. When they did I had no brakes was so hot they faded right out.
• Lunch in New Denver
• North Thru Nakusp to the Shelter Bay ferry across the Columbia Lake
• Revelstoke for the night 6:30 PM

Day Seven Back to Calgary Revelstoke - Calgary

• Left Rvelstoke 9:30 AM
• Lunch in Banff
• Back in Calgary 5:30 PM
